After Tottenham lost to Arsenal in the first north London derby of the season in September, Postecoglou defiantly declared that he “always wins the title” in his second season.
Those comments were intended to allay fans' fears of a trophyless season, but instead – as Postecoglou himself said – they used to mock him after a bad result.
Silverware remains on the cards for Tottenham in the Europa League and they hold a 1-0 advantage over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
But Postecoglou knows the results should improve soon.
He added: “Of course defeats hurt me. This is unacceptable. A lot of losses this year. A lot of matches are getting away from us.
“You should stop.”
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown feels the pressure is mounting on Postecoglou, saying his style of play is sometimes costly as they continue to play a high-pressing game.
“Tottenham took a lot of risks and Arsenal took advantage – the game was very open,” Keown told TNT Sports.
“Manchester United will probably beat Tottenham. It is a difficult moment for them and the manager is skating on thin ice.”
Former Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon added: “One win in nine is never good enough.
“That puts a lot of turmoil into it [Tottenham] camp. “If they are not in the Carabao Cup semi-final there will be big problems.”
Son said players also need to stand up and be counted.
“It's up to the players too,” the striker said. You have to listen to what we want to do. I think we were not disciplined enough.
“We have to do better in all aspects. When you look at the table, it's not good enough.”
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand criticized Tottenham's defence, saying: “It's like watching an Under-18 academy match when the kids solve it themselves.
“I'll scream at the goalkeeper and the defenders. Play through the press, not into the press.”
