Americans generally view Biden's time in the Oval Office more as a failure than a success, according to a new CNN poll.
The research revealed that only 36% of American adults approve of the way Biden has handled his presidency, matching the lowest approval mark during his term.
From behind the firm desk in the Oval Office, Biden spoke about his plan to conduct a peaceful transfer of power to Trump in light of the “oligarchy” threat to America.
“We must not be intimidated into sacrificing the future,” Biden said.
While Biden spoke of his concerns about “powerful forces” and their “unchecked influences,” Trump seemed unfazed and tweeted about his incoming administration on Truth Social.
“In order to save time, money, and effort, it would be beneficial if you did not send or recommend to us people who have worked with or been endorsed by Americans for No Prosperity,” Trump wrote.
He then called out politicians including Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Dick Cheney, or “any of the other people suffering from Trump derangement syndrome.”
Hostage deal
Biden's fifth and final speech from the Oval Office comes just hours after Trump revealed that Israel and Hamas had finally reached a ceasefire agreement to release hostages trapped in Gaza.
The president-elect confirmed the hostage deal and called the agreement “epic” in a post on Truth Social.
“We have an agreement regarding the hostages in the Middle East. They will be released soon. Thank you!” Trump wrote.
He later added: “I am thrilled that the American and Israeli hostages will return home to be reunited with their families and loved ones.”
Biden spoke about the deal in a speech from the White House, saying that it ends 15 months of suffering after months of negotiations.
Biden said: “The fighting in Gaza will stop, and soon the hostages will return to their families.”
He stressed that the terms of the plan will be mostly set by the incoming Trump administration.
“For the past few days, we have been talking as a team,” he said.

Biden then responded to a reporter who asked him whether he or Trump played a greater role in completing the hostage deal.
“Is this a joke?” Biden criticized.
Meanwhile, Trump said on Truth Social that the agreement would never have happened if he had not been elected.
“This epic ceasefire agreement could only happen as a result of our historic victory in November,” Trump wrote.
The Republican continued to say that his victory “gave a signal to the entire world that my administration will seek peace and negotiate deals to ensure the safety of all Americans and our allies.”
