Updated at 5:41 p.m: This year's AFI Awards Luncheon will now be held on Thursday, February 6, AFI President and CEO Bob Gazzaley announced Friday evening. Like many awards ceremonies around the city, it was postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfires, which are still nearing containment. The lunch date had been previously scheduled for Friday, January 10th.
“With the encouragement of the community, we will bring together the honorees for the AFI AWARDS luncheon on Thursday, February 6,” Ghazala said. “The spirit of this special event has always been one of camaraderie – not competition – and a moment to celebrate the power of art to heal, inspire and unite. This is a city built by dreamers – and bringing today’s dreamers together will lead us to brighter days ahead.”
Previous, January 8: The annual AFI Awards Luncheon scheduled for Friday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills has been postponed.
