Michelle Obama's absence from Donald Trump's inauguration was a “hell of a symbolic omission” amid divorce rumours, a radio station said.
Journalist and TV presenter Isabel Oakeshott said the former First Lady had only fueled speculation about her personal life by staying away from such a high-profile event.

Michelle and Barack Obama have been seen together in public since they gave speeches at the Democratic Convention five months ago.
Mrs. Obama also skipped the state Funeral Jimmy Carter earlier this month, citing a scheduling conflict.
But it later emerged that she was vacationing in Hawaii without her husband.
The former American sought to dispel rumors of a breakup with his wife by sharing a gushing post on social media to celebrate her birthday last week.

Ms Oakeshott described the no-show as “a hell of a protest”, adding: “If it were just a matter of, you know, policy From him and not wanting to give him the time of day, come on.

Speaking about the divorce rumours, she added: “You will know that there are rumors about the state of their marriage.
“I'm not in America right now. And I haven't spoken to any good sources about it, but it's a hell of a symbolic omission, isn't it?”
In response to a question about whether Mrs. Obama's political aspirations might be behind her absence, the anchor replied: “If there had been a time for her to run, and if the mechanisms for that could have been coordinated, it would have been clear that that was the time when Biden had to run.” “Kind of stepping aside because the game is over.”
