Beloved soap opera actor Francisco San Martín has tragically passed away at the age of 39.
San Martin is best known for playing Dario Hernandez on the long-running drama Days of Our Lives, where tributes from his co-stars started pouring in.
Cops found his body at his home in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 16, according to Hollywood Los Angeles News.
The actor is said to have committed suicide, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office says.
San Martin was born in Spain but moved to Montana when she was a child.
He found his first taste of acting in children's theater shows before moving into the world of modeling.
After years of training to become a teen actor, he finally found his big break on Days of Our Lives and appeared in several episodes between 2010 and 2011.
His other big projects included a role in the 2013 film Behind the Candelabra.
In 2017, he returned to daytime television and starred on The Bold and the Beautiful for 16 episodes.
His sad colleague Camila Banos posted a tribute to San Martin on Instagram, saying: “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend.
“I love you very, very much. I wish I could tell you more.”
Camila portrayed San Martin Gabi's on-screen sister in the show.
You are not alone
Suicide does not constitute discrimination, it touches the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders, doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It is the biggest killer of people under 35, deadlier than cancer and car accidents.
Men are three times more likely to commit suicide than women.
Yet it's rarely talked about, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice now.
