Jade Thirlwall, a former member of Little Mix, revealed that Harry Styles neglected to contact her after a romantic date, coinciding with his rise to fame as a member of One Direction. This was revealed during an episode of 'The Louis Theroux Podcast' on Spotify.
“We were about sixteen at the time,” Thirlwall said, reflecting on their youthful encounter. She recounted that Styles did not respond to her messages after their date, which occurred while he was competing on “The X Factor.” This was shortly after Styles, along with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson, formed One Direction during the 2010 season of the British music competition.
“The minute they started their live shows, he stopped messaging me,” Thirlwall recalls. “I thought, 'This is it for him.' “He made it big.”
Unbeknownst to Thirlwall, this incident would be a minor incident in what would develop into a remarkable career for both artists. Following Styles' path, Thirlwall achieved fame alongside bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson in Little Mix, which was formed on a later season of 'The X Factor'.
Years later, Styles reached out to Thirlwall to express his regret over his previous lack of communication. “I met him and he said, 'I'm really sorry I ignored you,'” she shared. “He ghosted you,” podcast host Louis Theroux said appropriately.
Commenting on the experience, Thirlwall said: “I was so young. It didn't really matter. Now that she's 32, she looks back on the situation without resentment, describing Styles as 'very talented' and 'very charming'. Since his age, Styles has established himself as a prominent figure in the pop music scene.
Regarding their personal lives, both artists have been involved in high-profile relationships. Styles has been linked to notable figures like Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, and Olivia Wilde, while Thirlwall is currently in a relationship with Jordan Stevens.
