Americans took to social media to applaud Melania's outfit, with one describing her dress as “everything.”
“Melania Trump looks amazing! Love the dress!” one viewer wrote on X.

On Monday, Donald Trump was sworn in as the forty-seventh president of the United States with his wife, Melania, by his side.
During the inauguration, Melania wore a white shirt, a long black dress and a black-and-white boat hat.
A fashion expert criticized the First Lady's appearance in an interview with The US Sun.
“I feel like it's a happy occasion and what she's wearing looks very dark and modest,” said fashion designer and clothing consultant Amanda Sanders.
“She looks like a chic updated Mary Poppins.”
Melania wore an array of designers: her coat was from Adam Lippes, a hat was from Eric Javits, and shoes were from Manolo Blahnik.
“I think it was smart to wear American designer clothes,” Sanders said. “This will definitely make Adam Lippes a household name.”
However, she questioned Melania's choice of headwear.
“She covers her face so we don't see much of her,” she said.
“She's very mature and dark. And she's usually very charming.”
“It seems like a very somber outfit for a cheerful celebration.”
However, the First Lady received favours on social media, with fans celebrating her 'fashionable' look.
“Our First Lady is ‘Make America Modern Again’!” Someone said.
Another added: “This woman is top notch in her clothing choices.”
A third said: “I love Trump, I hate Trump, no one can say Melania doesn't dress up when she's out in public.”
Meanwhile, President Trump was standing next to her, wearing a navy suit with a purple tie.
