Manchester City's surprising poor form has extended across all competitions.
It started with Tottenham's elimination from the FA Cup in October, and since then Pep Guardiola's side have won just five of their 17 matches in all competitions.
When it came to the Champions League, City took seven points from their first three games, but then suffered losses to Sporting and Juventus and squandered a three-goal lead against Feyenoord to draw 3-3 at the Etihad Stadium.
City are looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, although the new additions will not be able to play in the league stage.
“Of course it is a really important match for us and Paris Saint-Germain, but we still have another match against Brugge at home,” Guardiola said.
“I don't know how many points we will need. Six points would be mathematical [sure]But maybe four, maybe three.
“But if we don't qualify, we have to accept that we weren't good enough.”
Meanwhile, PSG are yet to lose in Ligue 1, but have failed to replicate that form in Europe, picking up just seven points from six matches with three defeats, one draw and two wins.
In the table, they are lowest among the so-called 'top clubs' in Europe and currently sit in a playoff spot.
Luis Enrique's team suffered defeats against Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, in addition to a draw at home against PSV Eindhoven.
“The truth is that we should have won the matches between PSV Eindhoven and Atletico,” Enrique said. “With these [extra] Five points and we will already qualify for the next round.
“But I am very optimistic and confident. Is it a must-win game? The commitment is for all players to give 100%, and I take the same attitude every day.”
“You can lose games, that's life. The most important thing is commitment.”
