Sting postponed several concerts due to a temporary sore throat.
On Tuesday, the veteran music group took to social media to announce the postponement along with rescheduling information.
“On the advice of his physician, due to illness, it is unfortunate that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone the STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, Arizona (which were scheduled for January 24) to June 1 and “Wheatland, California (originally scheduled for January 26) to May 28, as well as his performance at Cherrytree Music Company's 20th Anniversary, now taking place on May 29.”
“Fans should hold on to their tickets for the postponed shows, as they will be honored on the new dates. Sting deeply apologizes for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to fans for their understanding.”
On Wednesday, Sting thanked his fans for their concern and shared more details about his illness.
“Thank you so much for all the well wishes,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I am improving steadily from a temporary throat infection that has prevented me from singing, although I look forward to resuming my performances and rescheduled shows soon. Love, Sting.”
The announcement was met with great support from fans around the world.
“All the way from Mexico City, speedy recovery for King Sting…” one user commented.
“Become the best Sting!! “Sending you positive healing vibes,” another wrote.
In October 2018, Sting canceled a joint concert with Jamaican singer Shaggy just one hour before the start of the show in San Francisco due to health reasons.
Sting issued a statement at the time that said: “I'm sorry to have to postpone tonight's show…but I can barely talk right now. We will reschedule as soon as we can.”
