California Governor Javin NiSum Donald Trump received upon his arrival this afternoon at Los Angeles Airport on a tour to learn about the damage caused by forest fires, where the political opponents exchanged friendly greetings and pledged to work together.
The president told reporters: “We are looking to accomplish something, and the way you can complete it is to work together.” He said that the state “will need a lot of federal assistance,” then told Niwasum, “unless you need none of them.”
“We will need a lot of federal assistance,” said Newsum.
Earlier in the day, Trump said he wanted to set conditions on federal aid in order to recover. One of them is linked to his claim – which Newsum denied – that the state stopped the flow of water from northern California to its south. The other is that the state adopts the requirements of the voter, although this has nothing to do with the catastrophic catastrophe.
But Trump did not put these demands on the table in his first meeting with Newsum, who was not on the president's schedule for elected officials who were to participate in a press conference in Pacific Palssadis this afternoon. However, Newsum indicated that he would speak more with Trump later.
