British figure skater Mia Brooks took bronze in the snowboarding competition at the X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
The 18-year-old won gold 12 months ago, but was unable to defend her title as New Zealand's Zoe Sadowski-Sinnott finished first.
Sadowski-Sinnott, 23, took gold with a score of 94.66 in her first round of the final, which included a stunning triple cork.
“I can't believe it to win this competition,” Sadowski-Sinnott said. “We had epic conditions and I'm excited to win the gold medal.”
Brooks' score of 88.33 points in the first round seemed enough to get her a silver medal, but Japanese Kokomo Murase (20 years old) came ahead of her after scoring 90.33 in her second round.
Brooks, the youngest competitor in the field for the second year in a row, was unable to improve her score in the final round after stumbling when trying to achieve 1,260 points.
