A British woman and her fiancé died on Boxing Day after suffering methanol poisoning from “home-made” limoncello, according to Vietnamese cops.
Newly engaged couple Greta Marie Otteson, 33, and Arno Els Quinton, 36, are believed to have ordered two bottles of the tainted alcohol from a local restaurant on Christmas Eve.
The two bodies were found in two separate rooms inside a villa by shocked cleaners two days later.

Tests later concluded that they died of methanol poisoning, believed to be linked to the tainted limoncello drink, according to Vietnamese police.

They added that Greta spent Christmas complaining to her parents via WhatsApp that she was suffering from the “worst hangover ever.”

The couple reportedly tried to “sleep it out” rather than go to the doctors despite friends urging them to do so.
The source continued: “A local bar owner and a wonderful friend called them and wanted to take them to the hospital, but they refused.
“Unfortunately I think it will be too late by then.”

Six more people, including a Briton, died from methanol poisoning in November after drinking tainted alcohol while in Vang Vieng, Laos.
Simon White, a 28-year-old lawyer from London, was one of the victims after partygoers were shot.
Hunting for justice
It is understood that no arrests have yet been made in connection with the deaths of Arno or Greta.
The restaurant believed to have delivered the limoncello remains open as usual.
Vietnamese police say autopsy results show they were likely poisoned, and no further charges are expected at this time.
However, Greta's father, Paul, is desperate to find out who is responsible for the deadly drink.
“Our goal is to bring to justice the people who supplied the alcohol and killed Greta and Arno,” he said.

Paul, who is originally from Swansea, added: “We were absolutely delighted that she chose Arno. He was a lovely lad. Arno was a great musician, composer and lyricist.
“They bought a used bike and were so proud. Make sure it's red for Wales,” Susan told Greta.
They were a loving couple who had their lives ahead of them. “The praise we have received from all over the world is incredible.”
Travel enthusiast Greta had previously lived in Dubai and toured various countries in Asia before recently settling in Vietnam.
She was a digital strategist who ran a social media and content marketing agency called Not Sorry Socials.
Arno was a barista, musician, and streamer.
