Meta settled a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump after the social media giant arrested him from Facebook and Instagram platforms after the January 6, 2021 attack on Capitol.
As part of the agreement, Meta will pay $ 25 million, including about $ 22 million for Trump's presidential library and the rest go to legal fees and other prosecutors who were part of the litigation. Meta spokesman confirmed the settlement, which was reported by the Wall Street Journal for the first time.
“I write to the court’s informing that the parties have reached an agreement to settle the individual claims of the named prosecutors and solve this issue. K. Wayne Allen, Meta and Mark Zuckerberg, wrote in a file for the federal judge who supervises the case in San Francisco.
Trump's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
