After Johnny Sixon retires after the 2023 Rajabi World Cup, there was a discussion about whether Lindster Vanderstast or Crole Monster would become the back in the long run for one of the most influential players in Ireland.

Prendergast says he does not feel “internal pressure”, but he looks forward to consolidating his place like Ireland at the beginning of half, adding that he will be “embarrassing” if he does not continue with Crawley and Ciaran Frawley, another option in 10.

“The only pressure I feel is what is inside the group and what is inside me.

“It is clear that you want to be the tenth start for Ireland and Ling, but I will not listen to a lot of external noise.

“It's internal pressure, you want to start but there is not much competition with us. We are working well together.”

Prendergast added that the trio kicks on working days, and this will only help them to progress together.

“It will be a little embarrassing if we don't deal with us. We all kick in the same car to kick and travel together.

“We all move well and offer ideas in training, meetings or things like that.

“It is a good idea to learn each other. Do you like to get countless actors in training but you cannot. They get actors and you can learn to try them in a specific play or position, so it is very good.”
