Ange Postecoglou, director of Tottenham, denied reports Mates Tel initially rejected the club before moving on the day of the deadline to northern London.
Last week, reports of 19 -year -old French striker refused to move to Tottenham after his meeting with Daniel Levy in Germany.
However, Tel was filmed to fly to London on Monday before the completion of a transportation from Bayern Munich, as he initially joined on loan but with Spears carrying the option of 47.5 million pounds to buy in the summer.
When asked whether Tel was Tottenham, Postecoglou said: “I think people need to understand that you are talking about a 19 -year -old child who should make a great decision for his professional life and not that he rejected or refused anyone else.
“I think he just wanted to be comfortable with his decision. I don't think he wants to be pushed in a specific direction and he is credited with him.
“I had a conversation with him and he was about pure football and I think he will find a good place for him here.”
Postecoglou previously said he only wanted to sign players committed to the club's project, although they are currently sitting in the fourteenth place in the Premier League table.
When asked if he felt that Tel was committed to Tottenham, the Australian added: “Yes, 100 %. I'm sure more than 100 % because it took a lot of time, he was very diligent about discovering everything. He had other options so I gave it more Confidence that we get the appropriate type of mentality, the correct type of the player.
“He is very ambitious. He has great confidence and confidence. He feels that he can reach the top of the game and we have chosen a great justification for what we do.”
Tel can first appear with the defense of Tottenham in 1-0 against Liverpool in Anfield Thursday evening in the second cup match of the Carabau Cup.
Postecoglou Tel and the new Kevin Danso defensive signature are available, but the main defensive duo Mickey Van Din and Cristian Romero remain out.
