Brazilian defender Marcelo announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
The left back, one of the most decorating players in history, played 58 times for Brazil.
After reaching the ranks of the Brazinse club, Marcelo joined Real Madrid in 2007 at the age of 18.
He won 25 main pieces of 15 -year -old silver in Bernabeu, including five UEFA Champions League titles and six La Liga titles.
“At the age of eighteen, Real Madrid knocked on my door and arrived here. Now, I can say proudly that I am real,” Marcelo said in a video on social media.
“Sixteen seasons, 25 title, five championships, one of the captains and many magic nights in Bernabeu. What a trip!
“My journey ends as a player here, but I still have a lot to offer football. Thank you for everything.”
Marcelo captain was appointed in 2021, becoming the first unpopular to get a badge in the club for 117 years.
“Marcelo is one of the greatest left back in Real Madrid and world football, and we have been honored to enjoy him for a long time,” said Real Madrid President Florentino Perez.
“He is one of our greatest legends and Real Madrid and will always remain his home.”
He left Madrid at the end of the 2021-22 season to join the Greek Olympiacos, but he ended a deal for him only five months after joining.
Marcelo joined the Fluminsy Club in 2023 and spent two seasons in the club, which led to 68 games.
The full back, which was left with mutual approval last November, after the fans fell with director Mano Menezes.
