“Sometimes, people only see you at home throwing arrows and that's all. There is a lot that he goes to.”
Fading, fame and financial rewards – there was no better time to participate with arrows while continuing sports growth at a rapid rate.
But there is a lot behind the scenes for players to reach the top of the game.
The number one world, Locke Humphrez, knows directly the sacrifices made.
Speaking before the opening night of the arrows game in the 2025 Premier League in Belfast, Humphrez said: “Be in this tournament in many people's dreams, but it is really difficult.
“You are leaving on Wednesday and returning home on Friday. There are four hours that people watch you on Thursday night, but there is a lot that he goes to.
“There is a lot of travel and a lot of sacrifice, but we are all really lucky to do what we do. We are incredibly well paid, so it is a blessing for all of us. We cannot complain.”
With his second general orientation in the Premier League table, the 2024 world champion says he is learning a lot about how to speed himself from his first year with additional matches.
“If you are a beginner, you will not know what to expect or how to deal with things. I think last year will help me,” he said.
“Your calendar management is the best you can, it is very stacked. You can't play physically in everything, it is almost impossible.
“I will keep myself very busy throughout the year and I will be careful about how to choose and choose the tournaments that I miss to make sure that I do not burn myself.”
