A university student in California was killed inside a residential building outside the campus where officials are searching for a person with an interest that jumped from the window of the second floor to escape from the crime scene.
The Los Angeles County Office said that the Mingan Chuang's body was found inside its unit at the Vestas Amarat Complex in the Newhaal community in Santa Clarita after 6:45 pm on February 4.
Chuang, a Chinese citizen living in the United States in a visa for students, was a great study at the California Institute of Arts in Valencia, about five miles from her home.
The 23 -year -old, known to friends as Emily King, lived in the United States for three and a half years.
Her room colleague in Chouang discovered that she does not respond in her joint unit and called for help at 6:47 pm
Officials found that Chuang suffers from several injuries in the upper body, but they will not reveal the extent or type of injuries. Her death was announced at the scene.
Police says Chuang called for a “male companion” whose name was not revealed to her home on the night before her death.
The man was arrested on the video clips that run away from the building through the second Zhuang bedroom window hours before her body was discovered.
Los Angeles Sharif County Office said the man “seems to be of Asian origin.”
“This person is the person we want to determine and locate it,” said Lieutenant Michael Modika of the Sharif killing department on Thursday.
Investigators excluded Chouang's colleague in the room as a suspect cooperating in the investigation.
Modica described Chuang's death as “meaningless and violent act” that was not random.
Modica said: “Based on this investigation, it is clear that this was not a random work of violence and that Menghan knows somehow the important person.”
Modica did not confirm the relationship between Zhuang and the person of attention, but he said that the investigators were investigating the relationship between the two.
He also did not admit reports that Chuang has an older friend or if there is any home violence date in the relationship.
Provincial supervisor, Catherine Barger, made a $ 20,000 proposal for information about the murder.
The reward must be approved by the Los Angeles County Council during their meeting on February 18, but it will be retroactively until February 13.
The California Institute of Arts collaborates in the investigation and helped Sharif's office in contact with the Chouang family in China.
Modica said her father and sister arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
