Irish amateurs Michael Flynn says that his victory over his shock over the world champion Michael van Gereen is a “huge moment” in his career.
Flynn won Van Gerwin 6-4 in the first round of the third players championship in 2025 in Rosalne, the Netherlands.
The 32 -year -old, who works in the field of social welfare in Limreik Province, was added in his daily function, only to the PDC entry list on Sunday morning after a number of withdrawals.

Flynn – nicknamed “The Flyer” – is ranked eleventh in the challenge round, which is used as a reserve list for the events of the players.
“The MVG was not the name you wanted to see as the first opponent – you were hoping for an easier game,” Flynn told the BBC Sport.
“I knew that my shape was good in the course, but overcoming the world champion is three times it is an enormous moment in my career.”

There are 34 players' championships throughout the year. The second part of Rosalne's double head will be held on Tuesday, when the competition finals were held in a mine from 21 to 23 November.
