Manchester United will constitute up to 200 excessive jobs to “return the club to profitability.”
About 250 employees were formed last year in a first wave of cost reduction measures by the co -owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
At a meeting with employees on Monday, United CEO Omar Berrada told the employees that there would be a new round of repetition as part of the “transformation plan”.
The club's statement read: “The transformation plan aims to return the club to profitability after five consecutive years of losses since 2019.”
He added that “approximately 150-200 jobs may be excessive, taking into account an advice process with employees,” with the expectation that the process will take between three and four months.
United is in its next end in the English Premier League, where the Robin Amorim team is fifteenth in the table after a 2-2 draw on Saturday in Everton.
The club's statement added that additional measures are taken “to improve the financial sustainability of the club and enhance operational efficiency.
“This will create a more solid financial platform that the club can invest in the success of football for men and women and improve the infrastructure.”
Berrada said: “We have the responsibility to put Manchester United in the strongest position to win through our men, women and academy teams.
“These difficult options are necessary to return the club to a stable financial foot.
“We have lost money over the past five years in a row. This cannot continue.
“Our main priorities as a club achieve success on the field for our fans and improve our facilities. We cannot invest in these goals if we lose money constantly.”
