A Rangers fan died in a road accident in Istanbul before the club's match in the Turkish city.
The club said that it was “destroyed” if I learned of the death that occurred overnight.
Rangers Vennbahs plays in the European League tie Thursday evening.
Reports in the Turkish press indicate that the man was crossing the road in the early hours of the morning when a car was hit before a second vehicle run it.
A statement on the Rangers website said: “Direct ideas for everyone in the club are with their families and friends at this very difficult time,” a statement said on the Rangers website.
“We are in constant contact with both the Turkish and British authorities because of this tragic accident.”
“We are aware of the death of a British man in TΓΌrkiye and we are in contact with the local authorities,” said a foreign ministry spokesman.
Fenerbahce has stated that it extended the “cardiac sympathy” of the man's family and his guards.
