Oscar Bayastiri's colleague, Russell's views, said.
“Our car was very strong in Melbourne, but we are fully aware that it was an exceptional weekend instead of what we expect as a rule. We have a strong car, but it is still within the reach of others.”
Britain, Russell, who ranked third in Melbourne on Sunday, said that McLaren's main feature was based on the car's ability to care for its tires.
“If you are talking about trying to find this amount from the time of the essence in the lower power, this will not happen in one season and this never happens in one season,” Russell said.
“Obviously, they are doing something better than the rest, and greatly faster than everyone when the tires become hot.”
“McLaren are progressing a lot, I don't think I am a fool in wet but I had no opportunity to fight in the first half of the race.”
