Chelsea confirmed that they are holding talks with the European Football Association about its financial sustainability after a possible breach of the rules of fair play in the board of directors.
Blues is holding UEFA talks about a settlement related to its financial results for the year ending in June 2024, where the club recorded a profit before the tax of 128.4 million pounds, the first since Clearlake Capital Consortium from Todd Boehly made the club ownership.
This number includes a rating of 200 million pounds for the very successful women's team in “re -placed” as a separate work from the men's team in a deal with the Blueco parent company at the end of the season.
The evaluation of 200 million pounds, which will be a record for women's team, has not been approved by the European Union or the Premier League.
On Saturday morning, Chelsea issued their detailed accounts that stated that the club “concluded discussions with UEFA regarding the mitigating factors that affect their organizational factors.”
UEFA laws prohibit any related party transactions, and therefore means that the money created from the sale of the women's team will not be included in the fair financial play numbers.
It will also prohibit the club, including sales of two hotels for a sister company that was used to comply with the rules of profit and sustainability in the Premier League (PSR) last season.
In the accounts of last season, the value of the sales of Chelsea Cophorne and Melinum is 76.3 million pounds by the club. After the Premier League evaluation, the value of the two hotels was reduced by 6 million pounds.
Over a period of three years, competing clubs in European competitions are allowed to lose a total loss of 200 million euros (170.1 million pounds) by UEFA.
During the 2023/24 season, Chelsea spent 553 million pounds on the purchases of the players alone 208 million pounds through the sales of the players.
