Captain Liverpool Virgil Van Digk signed a new contract for two years with the club.

The previous 33 -year -old contract was scheduled to end at the end of the season.

But the Dutchman joined the front, Mohamed Salah, who signed a two -year extension last week, in committing his future for the club.

“It is a proud feeling, it is a feeling of joy. It is incredible,” said Van Dick.

“The journey I have gone through in my career, to be able to expand it with two other years in this club is amazing and I am very happy.”

The former defenders of Celtic and Southampton have been linked to a move to the French club Paris Saint Ferman.

“It was always Liverpool,” said Van Dick.

“This was the case. It was always in my head, it was the plan and it was always Liverpool.

“There was no doubt about my head that this is the right place for me and my family. I am one of Liverpool. Someone called me the last day of the adoptive vacuum – I am really proud to hear these things, he gives me a great feeling.
