“Although the decision to end the seventy men’s program is difficult, it is necessary to ensure our resources focus on areas that will have the greatest impact on the future of the game in Ireland.
“We are committed to ensuring that this transition is dealt with with the utmost respect for all who have contributed to the success of the Seves program.”
The men's Sevens team played its last championship in Los Angeles earlier this month, where they ranked eleventh and suffering from a decline in the global SVNS series.
They reached two Olympic matches in Tokyo in 2021 and in Paris last summer, and they won the tenth place in Japan and the sixth in France.
Kuxtern Trio Nick Timoni and Robert Palconi and Zak Ward played all for the seventy team in Ireland, and Ireland 15s has established Tadg Bern.
In addition, along with Lindster and Ireland 15S International Hugo Kennan, he appeared on the Sivm Olympics team in Paris.
IRFU CEO, Kevin Potts, said he is “very proud” of everything achieved by the seventies team.
“We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the SEVENS men's program, especially in achieving the rehabilitation of the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris.
“Their fixed dedication, hard work and skill have played a vital role in raising the level of the rugby file in seventy in Ireland.”
