PgA Jay Monohan will step down after nine years in the role when his contract expires in 2026.
Brian Rolab has been appointed as the first executive president in the tour and will gradually take over the Monahan daily responsibilities.
Rolap spent more than 20 years with the National Football League (NFL), the last of which is as president of the media and business.
“A year ago, our paintings reported that upon completion of a decade as a commissioner, I was stepped away from my role at the end of 2026,” Monohn said.
“Since then, we have worked together to determine a leader who can build on our momentum and develop a process that guarantees a smooth transition.
“We found exactly the appropriate captain in Brian Rolab, and I am excited to support him moving from the American Football Association to his new role that leads the PGA tour.”
It has dominated the last few years of Monohaan as a delegate by golf operations that caused the emergence of the Saudi -bid golf circuit.
The 55 -year -old was a LIV vocal critic, but he played a major role in negotiations that led to an agreement to form a partnership with the Public Investment Fund in Saudi Arabia (PIF), which transports Lev.
The secret nature of the talks with Lev was angry with a number of players.
There are negotiations aimed at a final agreement between the PGA and LIV round, and Rolab hopes to unite this sport.
“I think the fans were very clear,” said Rolap. “They want to see the best golf players compete against each other. I agree with that.
“When it comes to the situation with LIV, I think this is a complex situation that you may have to learn more before talking.
“But I will say that my focus on developing the tour, which makes it better, and really moving from the position of the strength it has.”
Tiger Woods was part of the PGA Tour CEO, which was unanimously recommended for this role.
“The appointment of Brian is a victory for players and fans,” Woods said. “He has clear respect for the game and our players, and brings a new perspective of his experience in the American Football Association.
“I am excited about what awaits us, and I am sure that with the leadership of Brian, we will continue to develop the tour in ways that benefit everyone who loves this sport.”
