The documents of the court of Koin, affiliated with the local CBS, stated that after the crowd that gathered for the drumming circle began to differentiate, many witnesses heard a stir loudly and then saw a woman – she was later identified as Smith – falling on the ground. The spectators remained to provide aid to Smith, who was shot at the back of her neck.
“While [Smith] She did not deserve a meaningless White Bilcher ambush, as she deserved the sympathy that witnesses showed her at the scene of the accident during her last moment. Three of these individuals had a force to testify during this trial, despite being deeply and personally affected by what they saw.
Portland's police soon found Bilcher after many witnesses gave them a description of the gun, who was still carrying his weapon on him. “He raised the slide on the gun and asked IF [Smith] He was dead and then asked the witness if he wanted to shoot him as well. “
The shooting seems completely random. Police said that Bilcher and Samith had no known relationship.
According to Quinn reports, Smith was struggling with homelessness at the time of her death. A witness who spoke to the port shortly after the accident, she said that she saw Smith “wandering about the request of people for $ 6” at the moments before her death, adding: “She had nothing to take.”
The family said on the gofundme page to raise money for the funeral of Smith that it “gave a difficult hand in life”, but “was a good person.”
Bilcher, whose trial was delayed several times and announced that he was inappropriate for trial at some point, was diagnosed with severe depression disorder and schizophrenia, according to the court documents obtained by Quinn. It was later considered an occasion for trial.
