Jorge Martin, MotoGP champion, should undergo hand surgery for the second time in less than a month.

The 27 -year -old Spaniards suffered a right -wing incident on the first day of the pre -season test in Malaysia earlier this month.

The April contesting will now undergo surgery on his left hand after suffering fractures in a training accident before the opening match for the Sunday season in Thailand.

Martin will carry out an operation in Barcelona on Tuesday and will be absent from the Grand Prix in Thailand, which is losing the season, with the time of recovery after surgery.

Aprilia confirmed that Lorenzo Safadori, Italy, will replace Martin in the Sunday race.

The second race for this season is in Argentina on March 16.
