The new NB.1.8.1 breed of Covid was discovered in Northern Ireland, and although some of its symptoms include symptoms of previous breeds, others are unusual, such as heartburn

A new breed of the virus that causes Covid has been discovered.

The Public Health Agency says at least seven people have been diagnosed with the NB.1.8.1 Corona virus, all in Northern Ireland. It has multiple symptoms, including some different from the typical symptoms seen with other strains.

“Common symptoms include sore throat, fatigue, fever, mild cough, muscle pain and nasal crowding. Symptoms of the digestive system may also occur in some cases,” said Dr. Lara Hero, Associate Professor and Chief of Virus Research at Griffith University in Australia.

Symptoms of the digestive system can include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and heartburn. The pluscinemaz.comincluded the full known symptoms below.

NB.1.8.1 was officially appointed “under control” by the World Health Organization (WHO) due to its rapid rise and the possibility of evading immunity from previous infections or vaccines.

The full list of symptoms is;

  • High temperature or tremor (chills) – a high temperature means that you feel free
  • A new continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 episodes or more coughs within 24 hours
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
  • Feeling tired or exhausted
  • Feeling of illness or disease

NB.1.8.1 Indeed, the dominant strain in Hong Kong and China, was discovered in Australia and the United States and across the popular holidays including Egypt, Thailand and the Maldives, Daily Star reports.

According to World Health Organization data, stress jumped from 2.5 % to 10.7 % of the global serials presented in only four weeks, which led to an increase in international anxiety. A spokesman for the World Health Organization said: “SARS-COV-2 continues to develop, and between January and May 2025, there were shifts in the global SARS-COV-2 dynamics. At the beginning of the year, the most common alternative was followed by those at the global level XEC, followed by KP.3.1.1.

“In February, XEC trading began to decrease while the LP.8.1 increased, as the latter became the most discovered alternative in mid -March. Since mid -April, the LP.8.1 trading has been discovered slightly like NB.1.8.1 increasingly.” Experts say NB.1.8.1 carries multiple mutations “may affect cells more efficiently than previous breeds.”

“It is possible that the person with NB.1.8.1 is more likely to pass the virus to another person, compared to previous variables. The evidence indicates that NB.1.8.1 may spread more easily and may partially avoid previous immunity or vaccination. These factors may explain their escalation in the sequence.

“But it is important, that the World Health Organization has not yet noticed any evidence that it causes a more severe disease compared to other variables. Reports indicate that symptoms of NB.1.8.1 should be closely corresponding to Omekron secretaries.”
