Some people who receive social security entitlements will witness that two paid hunger strikes next month.
Each month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends billions of dollars in benefits to about 70 million Americans.
In May 2025, the beneficiaries will receive a supplementary security income of 7.4 million (SSI) to two paid.
These are intended for persons with disabilities or blind people and have very limited income or assets.

One will be distributed on May 1 and the other on May 30.
Usually, SSI payments come out once a month in the first.
However, when this date decreases on the weekend or federal holiday, payments are transferred to the previous working day.
“When the first day of the month decreases on the weekend or a federal holiday, SSI's batch receives the last day before the first day of the month,” SSA explained.
“This means that you may get SSI payments in the same month.”
“We are doing this to avoid your status in a non -fired financial position and make sure that you do not have to wait after the beginning of the month to get your payment.
“This does not mean that you are receiving a duplicate in the previous month, so you do not need to contact us to report the second batch.”
The agency recommends waiting for three working days before contacting if the batch does not appear.
Weekends and public holidays are not working days.
While SSI checks usually come out at the beginning of each month, other social security advantages – such as retirement, survivors and marital payments – are sent – according to the date of the recipient's birth or for how long they got the advantages.
In May, these payments will be distributed to the following table:
Friday, May 2: The retirement advantages for people who started receiving checks before May 1997 and those who also get SSI.
Wednesday, May 14: Benefits for anyone born between the first and ten of any month.
Wednesday, May 21: Payments for those who have birthdays between 11 and 20.
Wednesday, May 28: Benefits for people born from the twenty -first to thirty -first.
What are SSI benefits?
The maximum SSI in 2025 is $ 967 per month for individuals and $ 1450 for couples.
However, your actual interest may be less dependent on your profits, family income, living situation and other factors.
In general, SSI is not available for individuals who get more than 2019 dollars monthly and receive less than $ 988 per month from other sources such as unemployment or pension payments.
Couples and parents who apply to their children have high -income thresholds.
