Nuno Espereto Santo, Nutingham Forest's director, said the race to secure the UEFA Champions League will go “along the way” this season.

After their first five hopes were hit by a defeat by Princeford on Thursday, Forest fell more points on Monday in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Forest failed to move the level on points with Newcastle and Chelsea – on the fourth and fifth in a row – but Nuno is sure that his team could catch up with the knee.

“No one is outside. It is definitely [going to go] Along the way, Nuno told Sky Sports.

There are still five times in the hands of Forest with favorable fixtures against Leicester Hades and West Margin jackets 17 before a possible decisive meeting with Chelsea in the city's land on May 25.

“These last few games will be like this. Nerve games and tight games, everyone is fighting for something,” Nuno added in the BBC match today.

“It is up to us to respond and read the moments of the game better, and take better decisions to play with all these noise around us so that children can settle again and play.”

However, Opta is less positive in forest horizons, where statistics experts expect Newcastle and Chelsea to end from the Nuno team, while Arsenal and Manchester City are expected to run second and third.

Only four points separate Manchester City in third place from Aston Villa in seventh place, as it included the five best five in the Champions League next season.

There will be at least eight teams in the Premier League competing in Europe next season – a rise in the usual seven – but things may change in the last weeks of the campaign.

Crystal Palace, who defeated a villa in the semi -finals of the FA Cup, at the end of last week, can still end in qualifying for Europe by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final this month.

BBC Sport is looking for the number of teams that can qualify for each of the continents competitions: the Champions League, the European League and conferences.
