The best policeman in the city said on Tuesday that the lawyer for the Bronx Darsel Clark County was dropping the ball.
New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tish said that Buro is in the far north in the far north, outperforming the crime, and described the grass from Clark as a “best place” in Big Apple to steal the car.
“And talk about any consequences,” Tish said, if you are interested in stealing a car, then the best place to do this is in Bronx. Why? Because the opportunities are good to be accused only of having a criminal misdemeanor of stolen property and sending them on your way.
“The theft of cars is a felony – so it must be charged as a felony,” she said at the breakfast committee in New York City in the city center on Tuesday morning. “And when you do not charge appropriately … you end up driving the city in the stolen cars with a wide margin.”
Car theft decreased by 12 % in the city in the first quarter of the years – but Bronx deceives the trend with 3.6 % stumbling blocks in stolen vehicles, according to TISCH.
The NYPD crime statistics referred to by the Commissioner were not immediately available for review.
The comments came in the wake of the new Tish attack on the quality of life, which is part of a plan to perpetuate 2000 police officers at the city level to take strict measures on the most complaints of the New York residents.
The initiative was launched at the Six City Cerincts last week, and it is scheduled to expand in the coming months.
“I am the voice of almost every NYPD policeman and “The laws of New York State, New York City laws, internal prosecution policies, internal policies, internal policies, and internal policies, have exposed them unnoticed risks, allowed criminals over and over again, revealing them with unnoticed risks, and allowed criminals again and again,” Tish said.
“But the good news is that a lot of this is greatly resolved. It is just a matter of its completion.”
Clark was a repeated target for critics who supported the prosecutor datched in the crime.
Data from the Criminal Justice Services Department in 2023 showed that the Clark office has the worst condemnation and dismissal rates in each of the major crime categories in New York City over the past decade, according to this stage at that time.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Bronx da office responded to Tish's comments by saying, “There is a difference between what is of interest to the police when arresting and what we can prove in court.
“Shipping decisions are taken with maximum integrity and do not bear any fees unless we have evidence,” the statement said. “Given that Bronx is a center for selling stolen cars from other judicial states, we will continue our scattered efforts to address car crimes and accountable for people.”
The statement also said that the DA office has a “fruitful partnership” with the NYPD crime unit to treat car theft that focuses on “long -term investigations and car theft crews.
“This approach allows us to boycott the patterns of these crimes and prosecute strongly.”
