Carmen Core Davis, 28, withdrew from society after being intimidated, ridiculed and online targeting online – often called “fish smell syndrome” – which causes her to smell
A young mother says that she rarely leaves the house and has been exposed for years of useless bullying in a rare condition that makes her a “smell like stool.” Carmen Core Davis was only 15 years old when he had no painful comment from her life boy forever.
Despite bathing every day and staying well, others have told “stool -like” – the first sign of a rare condition you had not heard before. Now is 28 years old, my young mother lives from Volovild, Manchester, with TMAU, which is often called “fish smell syndrome” – a metabolic disorder that causes a strong body smell. The situation led to years of bullying and isolation, but Carmen is now sharing her story to increase awareness and understanding.
TMAU is caused by an error in the FMO3 gene, which prevents the body from destroying the trimithyl Amin – a compound made after eating some protein -rich foods, according to news reports in Manchester. When it accumulates, it is launched through the skin and breathing as a strong and unpleasant smell, and the condition of the title “Fish smell”.
Once people started noticing the smell, Carmen says she withdrew from society. She was intimidated, mocked, and even targeting common abusive songs online.
In the hope of a new beginning, Carmen began the college in Oldham, but bullying continued. “I took myself out of the college,” she said. “I didn't want to be around anyone. My mom thought he was crazy, and never rose any smell, but I thought it was a state of unwillingness to harm my feelings.”
When she went to see a doctor for the first time, he believed that she was the issue of mental health – she had a fear of a bad smell that was “all in her head.” But bullying continued, as Carmen described “Net” and “A Piece of S ***”. She said: “I went back to the doctor. I said I am 100 % sure that I had something wrong with me, as people are taking a very bad smell,” she said.
It was her online search that led to a penetration, as Carmen stumbled for the first time on TMAU. According to charitable metabolism support in the UK, there are about 100 cases of condition, although experts believe that he suffers from a lack of diagnosis. It is believed that TMAU affects more women than men, as symptoms often become worse during adulthood. Although there is no treatment for the condition, it can be managed through a person's diet.
Carmen was officially diagnosed with TMAU after a series of medical tests. The mother says that she creates a “permeable” smell that she describes as stools, burning rubber, strong urine or corrupt eggs, although she remains in the bathroom for hours.
Carmen says almost all of her past eight years has spent at home because she is ashamed of her smell. “There is no single experience that I can participate in in any way because of TMAU,” Carmen said. “I am no longer dance. I no longer do the ballet. I do not do anything – I sit in my house a day.
“Going out at the weekend – this is just something that does not apply to me. TMAU has formed my life. I have no concept of time – tomorrow I will sit in my home again.”
Carmen is currently educating her five -year -old son, but she is determined to improve her confidence in taking him out to play and make friends. She depends on her own experiences to teach her little boy the importance of being nice with others – unlike those who targeted her with a treatment over the years.
She said: “Now six years old wants to be outside, and he should go out for his own development. I tried to take him to swim and there were people who feel disgusted with the smell of” wastewater “. I had to explain to them. People found it completely but they were not my mistake.
