Marcelo Mayer made his first -awaited MLB appearance with Red Sox on Saturday, but there was one small obstacle for the Infielder player.
Mayer's keys were missing and needed to get an elevator to Vinway Park from Worsester, a home of Red Sox Triple-A.
It was called to replace Alex Pragman, who was placed on IL for 10 days at a tense quarter of right, Mayer was called for the second match of the double heads on Saturday against the Urols and was in Worsester, facing Durham.
But Mayer, who is the possibility of Boston in second place, said that he was not replaced by the keys to his car.
“I lost them about three weeks ago and never cared about searching for them until I need it,” Mayer said at Red Sox Club.
According to Mayer, who spoke with MLB.com, among other things, one of the club's attendees led to Boston, which is about 45 minutes from Warsser.
Once he arrived in Vinway, the 22-year-old began at the third rule and went 0 against 4 in a 2-1 loss to Baltimore. Mayer 2 went on 4 with a double and recorded on Sunday.
The fourth year selection in the 2021 draft by Red Sox, Mayer got applause from the Boston crowd, who was waiting for his arrival.

The trip to Vinway included some traffic, which was barely surprising.

Mayer said: “I used it as a reason for a kind of cold and answering all my family and all my friends,” adding that his first message was to his father.
