Mcilroy from Northern Ireland will return to the Traverels Championship after skipping the 2024 event to “licking wounds”, after I missed the United States Open in Pinehurst.
Mcilroy arrives at Connecticut from the back from a difficult week in the pioneer in Oakmont this year, where he was clearly frustrated by his game while he was cut off and the reporters told that he got the right “to do what I want” after skipping media sessions.
After the tournament, he said that “Everest” climbed to complete the Grand Salam profession by winning a master's degree in April and that he was looking to expand the scope of “another mountain.”
“In the weeks that followed a major championship, sometimes when you are in the competition and try to win it, you may feel difficult to go and play next week,” said 36 -year -old.
“But a week later, as happened in Oakmont, where you were not in this mix, but you think you may find something in your game, you are excited to play again.
“This is the perfect chase of last week and it is good to go out on a golf course where you feel that you can make a few birds.”
When asked if one of the private shots in the US Open Championship made him feel more positive about his game, the main winner said that consistency was essential and pointed to the fact that he achieved most of the shots in the field in Ocont.
“If I can see something, or I have a feeling, this is very repetitive – on the range is something but in another training course – the guide in candy,” he added.
“I felt last week that I found a feeling, especially outside the starting point that was repeated and working well.
“I led strokes off the starting point last week, which was a big thing for me. I thought I led the ball well throughout the week.”
