Previously, 3:16 pm: An officer was wounded at lunch today in a shooting in Santa Monica, prompting to search for a suspect at the Santa Monica Center.
Santa Monica police issued an alert at about 1:30 pm, and urged the audience to avoid the fourth street and Colorado Street, where the commercial center is located.
The officers were conducting a coordinated search for the suspect, according to the spokesman for the Luis Gilmour department. The police described the suspect as a man in his thirties, and he was last seen wearing a dark jacket and black pants. A picture of the suspect was posted on the Ministry's social media account.
It was not immediately clear whether the officer, who was transferred to the hospital for treatment, was shot.
