Scotti Chefler has previously refused to compare Rorre McLero to him to the legend of Golf Tiger Woods. Both players are expected to be among the top competitors in the upcoming US Open Championship.

The shape of Mcilroy was noticeably inconsistent since its victory in the Master in April, which represents his career Grand Slam. On the other hand, his opponent, Sheffler, increased his game this season, where he won the PGA championship in May.

After a disappointing performance in the United States PGA, Mcilroy continued the struggle in the Canadian RBC Open Championship this week, where he missed his first cut this season. The Northern Irish golf player faced difficulty with a new driver and recorded 78 in the second round on Friday.

After completing the ninth championship on an equal footing of linking the 149th place – the worst in his career in the PGA tour – Mcilroy admitted his concerns about his leadership before the third year's specialization in Oakmont.

“Yes, of course it comes to me,” Mcilroy confessed. “You do not want to photograph high degrees like those you did today. However, I felt here clearly that with a new driver he believed this would be good and solve some problems outside the starting point, but he did not.

“Obviously go to OakMont next week, what you need to do more than anything else there is Hit Fairways. You are still looking for the lost piece outside the starting point.

“For me, when I get this part of the click game, everything is in place for me. Now this is not. Yes, this is a source of concern to go to next week.”

However, Scheffler in a hot shape enters the event and will be preferred to win the US Open. It took some time to find his groove this season, but he won three of his last four championships, including Bayron Nelson and the Memorial.

Since March, Sheffler, 28, has been constantly in the top ten and is expected to challenge first place again. In recent years, put T7, T2 and third in the US Open, and will be keen to go this time.

Mcilroy is well aware of the threat of Sheffler, after he previously indicated to him as a golf player in the same Woods template that “does not make mistakes” in light of his wonderful achievements in 2024.

“I never-this is anyone, this is the tiger, this is in the history of the golf-I don't think I have ever seen a golf player played like many ghost-free tours like Scotty,” McLeroy admitted. “He does not make mistakes. He plays the right shot in time again and again.”

Nevertheless, Sheffler reduced the comparisons with Woods, who won 15 specialties, last year after defending his title at The Hero World Challenge. After an incredible season, Sheffler admitted that he had not given himself time to think about his success.

“Yes, I mean, I am never good in this type of things,” Shefler said. “I really do my best when I stay today. It was a wonderful year, and I am very grateful for the season and my aspirations to win and it was a lot of fun.

“But at the end of the day when we go home, I look forward to doing things not a golf game. I like to go home and live my life and enjoy my time at home. I have a little time to think, but I am not really sure how to evaluate it. It was very surreal, it was a lot of fun. I'm really grateful.”

Repeated in the Woods Excellence Days, Sheffler achieved nine great victories last year, including the desired master's, an Olympic gold medal, and the FedEx Cup.

On the other hand, Mcilroy faces a difficult challenge if he hopes to overcome Shevler, especially after having to adapt to a new driver when his previous test failed to test match last month.

Mcilroy's return to the US Open Championship is scheduled to revive painful memories of the collapse of the final round last year, as the initiative is dispelled with only five holes, eventually disputed by the Praison Deschambo title. This was disappointed hot on the other afternoon near Miss in 2023, when Winnah Clark placed it on the center with one blow.
