The authorities said that a small plane crashed into a neighborhood in the Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon, killing a person on board and damaging a house.
The firefighters responded to the scene, the police officers surrounded the streets, and warned people not to stay in the area.
Smoke can be seen rising from the roof of one house in the Wood farm department in Wadi Simi, a community about 50 miles (80.47 km) northwest of Los Angeles.

The Ventura Province Fire Department confirmed that the residents were inside both houses at the time, but they were evacuated and they were not reported.
The authorities said that both houses were damaged and affected by the fire.
About 40 firefighters were at the scene.
With fire outside, they started working on reform and rescue operations.
