Snower player Mark King lost his appeal against a five -year ban to clarify the matches.
King's ban was delivered in November 2024 after an independent disciplinary committee found that the Englishman is guilty of one of the matches being stabilized and one charge of providing internal information in the match.
The open champion in the former Northern Ireland was suspended by the World Sports Ruling Authority, Billiards and World Professional Billiards Association (WPBSA), on March 18, 2023.
This was after a suspicious betting was reported in his match against Joe Perry on February 13 of that year in the Wales Open, which was lost by the king 4-0. Perry was not accused of not committing any violations.
King was ordered to pay more than 68,000 pounds of costs and ban it from this sport for five years.
King, 51, objected to the punishment and his appeal was heard by an independent appeal committee on April 8-9, 2025.
Previous number 11, No. 11, presented four points to listen to his appeal, which he chose one to abandon it at the beginning of the session.
He stated that the seats put large sums in 4-1 and 4-2, as well as the actual result of 4-0, weakened the argument that agreed to the loss 4-0.
King has also argued that his relationship with a person associated with betting was defective.
Finally, he complained that the disciplinary committee reached a number of wrong conclusions surrounding his shape and an injury that was suffering from going to the match against Perry.
“Anywhere in this appeal, it has been proven that a very wrong realistic decision was not possible, or that the evaluation decision is so wrong that it can be said that it is unreasonable,” the final report mentioned the independent appeal committee.
He added: “In our opinion, the committee reached reasonable, rational, logical and clear conclusions and in a manner that is based on all the evidence that I looked carefully carefully and we find no reason to interfere with the conclusions it reached.”
King will be eligible to return to sport in March 2028.
