It was an honor that was waiting for him with patience.
FDNY-at an emotional party on Thursday-Firefighters Mark Dzimian, who was transferred to the hospital since he was stroked while responding to a fire in Brooklyn on March 16.
Dziemian's wife, Jackee, and their two children, accepted his on behalf of his behavior at a ceremony at Statin Island College. She said that she was a moment when her husband was dependent on.
Jackie said, “Mark has been looking forward to it for a long time,” Jackie said. He conducted the test in 2022, and became a lieutenant for him.
“It was really sure to look around the room to see FDNY firefighters and their families feel what we are going through,” she said.
FDNY Commissioner Robert Taker told the Post that he was “very emotional” during the event, adding that Dziemian was to change the title.
“This was the promotion of civil service, and there was no doubt in my mind that we wanted to promote him when we reached his number, and the mayor was incredibly supportive of that,” said Taker.
Dzimian's wife and children, Sofia, 4 years old, Michael, 8 months, received a long applause while walking through the stage to accept his new rank.
“I will be surprised if there was a dry eye in that room, which was full of many difficult people,” said Taker. “It was exactly how I wanted to see his wife and family how to feel it, her family and Mark.”
During his career, Dziemian Fdny served in many capabilities, including representing the section in the festive unit of funerals, flags, and other official events.
Taker said that friends and colleagues in Dzimian were a continuous source of supporting his family since his medical condition.
“At any time when a fire or EMT, a paramedic, or frankly any person in the FDNY, is a profound event,” Taker said. “It is something that we all respond to.”
Dziemian, who works outside the 217 -engine in Bushwick, in MASPETH, Queens, grew up to St. Adalber's Elementary School in ELMHURST, Queens, played many sports in Kazavier High School and studied theater and visual arts at Fordham University.
He followed the footsteps of his cousin, Walter, and became EMT. An opportunity to meet with former Communications Commissioner Stephen Gregory inspired us to join FDny.
“Mark is an ideal firefighter that I considered as a fourth son,” said Gregory, whose family has four generations in this position. “I put my father's bladder emblem aside for Mark to receive an emblem #1207.”
A Dziemian American proud, is the president of the PULASKI Association in FDNY, a charitable organization for firefighters with Polish roots and other Slavic roots.
On the first of March, two weeks before Dziemian injury, he was proud to report that the annual PULASKI dinner raised $ 1500 for Smile's Smile, which helps children in need, as well as $ 5,000 to the Center Firefters Burn, which sends childhood victims to the summer camp.
Dziemian – a 41 -year -old medieval population in the hospital on March 29 – encouraged his life friend, Mariusz Jastrzebski, who owns Syrena Baker in Greenpoint, to take care of the PULASKI Association.
“Being an American is a Polish American with the parents who came from Poland, he wanted to use his heritage and being a firefighter for good in society,” said Jassbsky. “Now, I am in awe of how FDny and society ascended to his family.”
Dziemian was transferred to the Wycoff Heights Medical Center in Bushwick immediately after the heart accident but was transferred to Lenox Hill on the same night. After moving again to the North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, Dzimian is fighting “for recovery” at the Rocksk Rehabilitation Center in Manhattan, where his wife is led daily by FDNY members.
When Dziemian clashed his injuries, his mother, Ashnis, died of cancer on March 27. His father, Eugene, died in March 1998.
Jackee Dziemian says it is difficult to describe the flow of support from the FDNY family assistance unit, the official firefighters association, and the medical teams that care about her husband.
On Saturday, he watched friends, family, and colleagues of firefighters as the FDNY naval unit praised Dziemian with a water demonstration of police boats along the eastern river.
