Cardinal Robert Brevost, a Chicago citizen who spent his career in Peru in Peru, was elected the new Pope, to become the first American to hold the title “Pontif in the history of the Catholic Church of 2000 years.”

The 69 -year -old will become the fourteenth Liu because he succeeds in the late Pope Francis, who brought the Americans in Peru to the Vatican in 2023 to head the bishops' office.
The Globe-Trotting Prevost spent years leading the believers in Chicago, Peru and Italy, with Americans now responsible for overseeing the church herd for more than 1.4 billion people.
What to know about Prevost Education
Pievost was born in Chicago on September 14, 1955, to Luis Marius Perialst and Meldid Martinez.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Villanova in Pennsylvania, and after a short time he sought to become a priest, and joined the Order of St. Augustine in 1977.
