Cardinal Robert Brevost, a Chicago citizen who spent his career in Peru in Peru, was elected the new Pope, to become the first American to hold the title “Pontif in the history of the Catholic Church of 2000 years.”

Pievost was born in Chicago on September 14, 1955, to Luis Marius Perialst and Meldid Martinez.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Villanova in Pennsylvania, and after a short time he sought to become a priest, and joined the Order of St. Augustine in 1977.
