Uzbekistan and Jordan qualified for the first World Cup, while South Korea also won its place in the tournament.

They became the eighth, ninth and ten teams to confirm their positions in the 48 expanded teams in the United States, Canada and Mexico in 2026.

The three hosts qualified automatically, while the last trilogy to qualify to join Japan, New Zealand, Iran and Argentina.

Uzbekistan tied 0-0 with the United Arab Emirates, while South Korea beat Iraq 2-0 later in the day to qualify for the eleventh World Cup in a row, which means that Jordan's 3-0 victory against Amman confirmed their historical qualification.

Uzbekistan ranked 57th in the world, with a population of 36 million people, Uzbekistan played its first sovereign country in June 1992 after leaving the Soviet Union, and was accepted by the FIFA World ruling body two years later.

The closest Uzbekistan had previously came to qualify during a controversial campaign in 2006, when they were in a separate match from legs against Bahrain to determine who would be the representative of the Asian Football Association to face Trinidad and Tobago. The winner of that match will be eligible for the finals in Germany.

Uzbekistan won the first introduction 1-0, but a mistake in the referee led to FIFA playing the match again, and eventually lost goals out.

However, Uzbeks has qualified for all the Asian Cup finals since 1996 and developed into the phase of the defeat in every appearance since 2004, including running to the semi -finals in 2011 and the quarter -finals last year.

The AFC contestants ranked 62nd in the world and competing in the seventh World Cup qualifiers, since its first year in 1986.

The closest thing they had previously reached in the qualifiers was to lose a match between continents in Uruguay in 2014.
